When leaders at Good Samaritan Health Center learned about their access to CNECT's discounted GPO contracts, they explored opportunities to enhance language services. By partnering with CNECT, the organization adopted a new translation provider that lowered costs and improved communication for providers and patients.
The Member
Good Samaritan Health Center is a nonprofit healthcare organization located in Atlanta that provides comprehensive care to uninsured and underserved individuals throughout the community. Founded in 1998, the organization’s mission is to deliver compassionate, high-quality healthcare to those who may otherwise face barriers to accessing care. Good Samaritan Health Center offers a range of services including primary medical care, dental care, behavioral health counseling, specialty care through volunteer providers, and health education programs.
The Challenge
In 2025, Vanessa McKinley contacted Good Samaritan Health Center to introduce herself as the organization’s CNECT representative. During that conversation, leadership learned that the organization was already eligible to access discounted GPO contracts through their free CNECT membership.
Leadership identified language interpretation services as an immediate area to evaluate. The organization relied heavily on interpreters during patient visits and wanted to ensure the service remained both dependable for providers and financially sustainable.
The Results
Through CNECT, Good Samaritan Health Center was introduced to Propio Language Services, which provides interpretation and translation services under a CNECT contract.
After reviewing the available options and pricing, the organization transitioned its interpretation services to Propio. The implementation process was straightforward, allowing the team to begin using the service with minimal disruption to daily operations.
The impact was immediate. Good Samaritan Health Center was able to obtain interpretation services at approximately half the rate they had previously been paying. In addition to the cost savings, providers reported a positive experience using Propio, and the transition to the new service was seamless for staff.
The success of the language services transition also opened the door for further collaboration. After seeing the value of the Propio partnership, leadership invited CNECT to present during a leadership meeting so that department leaders could explore additional opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
For Good Samaritan Health Center, the experience demonstrated how engaging with existing group purchasing resources can help support both operational efficiency and patient care.
