Tozer Lee Eye Center was navigating complex procurement across multiple vendors when they turned to CNECT. Through vendor consolidation and guidance from their CNECT representative, the practice reduced administrative burden, controlled costs, and built a strong foundation for expansion.
The Member
Tozer Lee Eye Center is an Arizona-based ophthalmology and optometry practice providing comprehensive eye care services, across two locations in Scottsdale and Mesa. With more than 30 years of experience, the practice combines clinical expertise with advanced technology to deliver personalized, patient-focused care, offering services from preventative care to specialized treatment for conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease.
The Challenge
Managing procurement across multiple vendors had become increasingly complex, creating challenges with inconsistent pricing, product availability, and administrative burden. Previous distributors also had not met expectations, leaving the organization frustrated with rising costs and unstable supply.
Vendor consolidation and cost control were top priorities as the organization evaluated its next steps. With plans to potentially open an additional location, leadership recognized the need to first establish a more streamlined and reliable purchasing strategy before expanding operations.
The Results
Kyle Serzen, the practice’s CNECT representative, guided Tozer Lee Eye Center through its first GPO experience, connecting them to McKesson and advising how contracts could help lower costs and provide protection from market volatility, tariffs, and inflation.
With this support, the practice centralized procurement, simplified ordering and invoicing, consolidated vendors, and improved cost control. This streamlined approach provided operational stability and positioned the organization to focus on future growth and expansion while maintaining reliable access to critical products.
